Aiming For A Greener Future
Why Plant Trees In California?
Solarflexion teamed up with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization with a mission to help global reforestation efforts in 2021. We are committed and strive for sustainability toward our natural environment. For every order processed, Solarflexion will help plant a tree through non-profit One Tree Planted. Currently, we are planting and restoring reforestation here in the United States, starting with the state of California. 2020 was a record breaking year of wildfires. In total, 4,397,809 acres of land burned down with a total of 9,639 wildfires. Year 2021 was no different resulting in 8,619 wildfires with 2,569,009 acres burned across the state. There is still a lot of work to be done as there are several areas of ongoing support that are needed in the response and recovery phases. Planting trees is just the starting point of restoring the beautiful state of California and we have only begun.
California's forests provide innumerable benefits, including clean water and air, recreation, habitat, and beautiful scenery. Healthy forests also play an important role in addressing climate change. Together, our efforts will help plant trees and restore forests throughout California. Young, healthy forests can help minimize future wildfires and reduce the impact of smoke on public health. They also help protect water supply by improving the health of headwater forests which make them more resilient to drought and long-term climate change. Your support is not limited to planting trees, but the great results of reforestation in California will help restore native species that are endangered by fungus and bark beetle infestations, such as the Sugar Pine.
To maximize the impact of your donation, our partner, One Tree Planted will determine the most appropriate species of tree to plant, depending on the time of year. Species planted include the Sugar Pine, California Redwood (State Tree), Maple, Elderberry, Willow, Birch, Dogwood, Cedar, Giant Sequoia, and Walnut.
Together, we can make a difference and aim for a greener future. California is just our starting point. We plan to plant trees across North America, one state at a time.
