The SMA ESS-RSD01-RSI50 Rapid Shutdown Initiator is an external digital switch designed to provide a convenient location for initiating photovoltaic rapid shutdown. It is intended for SMA Home Energy systems where the inverter and battery are located away from the main electrical service panel.
Designed for use with SMA Sunny Boy Smart Energy systems, the Rapid Shutdown Initiator provides a remotely located shutdown control for installations where direct access to the inverter is limited or inconvenient. It can also be used in systems with multiple compatible Sunny Boy Smart Energy inverters when the appropriate adapter is used.
